24in Bronze Propeller

Ship From So. CA

From the estate of a local collector. We're by no means experts on propellers, but this one appears to be unused... no guarantees of that but that's how it looks to us. We suspect the numbers you see above (click photos to enlarge) are related to the size and pitch. Shaft diameter is approximately 1.375" in.

Included with the prop, just in case you want to display it instead of have it power your (rather signficiant) boat, included is a large custom-milled mounting bolt with a decorative cover. When we removed the prop from the home where it was located, it was held firmly on a stud in the owner's office with this mounting device.

We checked with a local propeller distributor and learned that a new prop of this size would cost approximately $1,400.

Shipping: This is a very heavy piece. You may pick it up here in Northern San Diego County, else it will require crating for shipping. We can arrange that for you with our crater.

Antique W. & L.E.Gurley Surveyor's Transit
on Oak Tripod

Ship From Vista, CA

From the estate of a local engineer who had many clocks and "technical tools" (from our perspective).

We understand from the wife of this gentleman that, although an antique, her husband used this transit to survey a parcel of land in Fallbrook where they built a home some years ago, so we assume it is in good working order. It appears to be very clean and to not have withstood any abuse.

P
hysical:
For display purposes, the transit on the tripod stands approximately 72"h. The scope is 10.25" in length. The larger end of the scope is approximately 1.75" in diameter. The oak base on which the tripod sits is approximately 25.375" on a side.

Ancient Asian Rice Scoop

Years ago we found this remarkable piece and bought it with the idea of having a dried flower arrangement put into the body and hanging it in our home. A clock got there first and this wonderful piece of history has been languishing, just waiting for a new home... like yours. A quick trip to Michael's for silk flowers and you'll have what you need for a spectacular wall piece in your home or office... or let them do the work for you!

(Click Photos To Enlarge)

If you look closely at the enlarged photos you will see the aging and patina on this piece. In addition, note, on the bottom, how the front and back ends are a bit worn... from the scoop rubbing on the bottom of the supply container (or ground) over the course of many, many years of hard work.

The handle on the bottom swivels, so a person put one hand on the front handle and one on the back, and then went to work to move rice from a supply container to perhaps a home-sized container.

There is a pretty Asian-themed brass hanger already mounted, so it's ready to hang... and the price is absolutely right! Heck, maybe you could use it as a place to put your bills!
