Very large standing clocks and wall-hanging (over 55" or so) generally can't be shipped in corrugated boxes like we do with smaller clocks. So that leaves three options:
- You pick up the clock in your own vehicle; or
- We have the clock crated and shipped to you; or
- You arrange for a blanket-wrap mover to pickup and deliver the clock to you.
In most cases we have found that crating and blanket-wrap cost about the same, but the blanket-wrap folks can take 4-8 weeks to deliver the clock to you. But the decision on which method to use is always yours.
We arrange with various craters to pack and ship these large clocks. If they originate in Southern California, we exclusively use Tri-City Crating in Vista. They are a large, professional operation who use the latest technology to appropriately prepare your clock for transport. Their crates even have tip and shock indicators inside so you can tell how the crate has been handled along the way!
Tri-City also has long relationships with common carriers who will insure antiquities. Many won't, so we are fortunate to not only have the most experienced clock-crating firm in the nation working with us, but also their transport connections... thank-you, Tri-City Crating!
